This Privacy Policy describes how Natalia Zvereva, a sole proprietorship operating Art of Rental (the "Site") at artofrental.com, collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a bcrypt hash; we never see your plaintext password)
Payment information: processed by Stripe; we receive only the last 4 digits of your card, card brand, billing country, and confirmation of payment. We do NOT store full card numbers
Communications: content of emails you send us, replies to our marketing emails, support requests
Lead magnet signups: email and first name when you download a free guide

Information collected automatically

Usage data: pages visited, lessons watched, watch duration, login times
Device and connection: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, referring URL
Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 4
Email engagement: opens, clicks, bounces (tracked by Resend)

Information from third parties

Stripe: payment status, billing country, dispute or chargeback notifications
Email providers: delivery status from Gmail, Outlook, and other major providers

2. How We Use Your Information

Process your payment and prevent fraud
Send transactional emails (welcome, password setup, payment confirmation)
Send marketing emails about new content, updates, and offers (you can unsubscribe anytime)

You can disable cookies in your browser, but the Site may not function correctly without essential cookies. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers or sell tracking data.

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the Site:

We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing aggregators.

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

6. International Data Transfers

We operate from the USA. Our service providers (Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare) are also US-based. If you access the Site from outside the USA, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

For EU/UK transfers, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with our service providers where applicable.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account deletion:

Account data: deleted within 30 days, except as required for legal/tax purposes
Payment records: retained for 7 years (US tax law)
Email subscription data: retained until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 90 days

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information:

HTTPS / TLS encryption for all data in transit
Bcrypt hashing for passwords (we cannot retrieve your password)
Limited access to production systems
Regular security updates

No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, email support@artofrental.com immediately.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information may contact us at support@artofrental.com.

11. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. We do not currently respond to DNT signals because no industry standard exists for implementation.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be notified by email to active users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
